Astro-Databank grades this chart A, which means a time taken from memory. The collector, Sy Scholfield, quotes Carrey twice. In a profile by Joel Stein in the Canadian edition of Time, dated February 26, 2007, he said: "I was born at 2:30 a.m." In an interview with Angela Dawson published online on December 15, 2005, he said: "I've had this obsession with the number 23, as well as the number 7, for years. I was born at 2:30 a.m." We read nothing into those numbers. The quote is here as the source of the time.
That is a statement, not a certificate, and 2:30 is a round figure, so treat the minute as approximate. The chart tolerates some error: Scorpio rose in Newmarket from 1:11 a.m. to 3:47 a.m., so any time from 2:00 to 3:00 a.m. gives the same ascendant, and the Moon is in Gemini for the whole day. The midheaven has less room, because Virgo takes it at 2:42 a.m.
