Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, is an American singer-songwriter. He moved to New York City in 1961, and his first album, Bob Dylan, came out in 1962. The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (1963) included "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall", and his song "Blowin' in the Wind" dates from the same year. Highway 61 Revisited and the single "Like a Rolling Stone" followed in 1965, then Blonde on Blonde in 1966. Blood on the Tracks (1975) drew wide acclaim, and Time Out of Mind (1997) won the Grammy for Album of the Year. In 2008 the Pulitzer jury gave him a special citation, and in 2016 he received the Nobel Prize in Literature "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition". Rough and Rowdy Ways appeared in 2020.

Taurus gathers the Moon, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter
Moon (21°31′), Saturn (20°05′), Uranus (26°38′) and Jupiter (29°40′) all stand in Taurus, a fixed earth sign linked to patience and the senses. The Moon and Saturn are 1°26′ from conjunction, which astrologers read as feeling kept under tight control. Uranus, 5°07′ from the Moon, adds a note of sudden change to that steady ground.
Placidus puts all four in the 5th house, which covers creative play and performance, and Whole Sign shifts them to the 6th, craft and daily work. The Moon held Taurus from 1:27 a.m. on May 23 until 2:10 p.m. on May 25, so it stays there at any clock time that day.

Jupiter, 0°20′ short of Gemini
At 29°40′, Jupiter has only 0°20′ left in Taurus. Final degrees suggest a handover, one sign's business nearly finished and the next about to begin. Gemini is next, and the Sun at 3°31′ sits there, 3°51′ away.
Jupiter also rules Sagittarius, his rising sign. It sextiles Pluto within 2°42′, expansion that reaches for depth, and trines Neptune within 4°43′, which adds wide imaginative range.

Gemini Sun sextile Pluto, 1°08′ from exact
The Sun arrived in Gemini at 5:24 a.m. on May 21. Pluto, at 2°22′ of Leo, makes the narrowest aspect in the chart with it, a sextile that tradition reads as an easy channel for Pluto's intensity. Mars at 5°59′ of Pisces squares the Sun within 2°28′, an air-and-water friction that suggests drive looking for a form.
Venus (12°59′) and Mercury (23°03′) are in Gemini too. Sun and Venus fall in the 6th house by Placidus, the 7th by Whole Sign. Five planets are mutable and five fixed, a split that sets flexibility against persistence.

Mercury, 2°43′ beyond the descendant
Opposite the ascendant lies the descendant, here 20°20′ Gemini, the angle of face-to-face encounters. Mercury at 23°03′ stands 2°43′ beyond it, in the 7th house under both systems. Thought and speech placed at the partnership angle point to ideas that grow in exchange with others.
Retrograde Neptune at 24°57′ of Virgo squares Mercury within 1°54′, which pulls exact language toward image and suggestion. Neptune also trines Uranus (1°41′) and the Moon (3°26′), which links it to the Taurus group.

Libra overhead, Sagittarius on the horizon
Sagittarius held the Duluth horizon from 7:23 p.m. to 9:48 p.m.; he arrived 102 minutes in, and Capricorn followed at 9:49 p.m. This ascendant gives an outward, exploring first impression.
The midheaven is 17°51′ Libra, entered by Libra at 8:00 p.m., 65 minutes ahead of the birth. Libra there points to a public face shaped by balance and taste. Its ruler Venus stands in Gemini at 12°59′.
