American actress Brooke Shields began modeling as an infant and became a screen name with The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Endless Love (1981). She graduated from Princeton University in 1987. In 1994 she made her Broadway debut as Rizzo in a revival of Grease, and from 1996 to 2000 she starred in the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, which brought her two Golden Globe nominations. She played Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway in 2005 and led the cast of Lipstick Jungle in 2008 and 2009. In 2024 she was elected president of the Actors' Equity Association.
