Serena Williams is an American tennis player who turned professional in 1995 and won her first major singles title at the 1999 US Open. From the 2002 French Open to the 2003 Australian Open she held all four major singles titles at once, a feat the press named the Serena Slam, and she repeated it in 2014 and 2015. Her 23rd major, at the 2017 Australian Open, is the most in the Open Era. She spent 319 weeks as world No. 1 and won 14 major doubles titles, all with her sister Venus. She has four Olympic golds: doubles in 2000, 2008 and 2012, and singles in 2012. She founded the venture capital firm Serena Ventures in 2014, left the tour after the 2022 US Open and returned in June 2026 with a doubles wildcard.

Five Libra bodies, one house of daily work
The Sun at 3°49′, Saturn at 11°43′, Jupiter at 17°02′, Pluto at 23°27′ and Mercury at 29°39′ all stand in Libra, and every one sits in the 6th house by Placidus and by Whole Sign alike. Libra is the sign of balance and measure; the 6th covers routine, craft and training. That weight suggests a chart built around daily practice and the skill it produces.
The Moon at 20°24′ of Virgo also falls in the 6th by Placidus, though Whole Sign gives it the 5th, the house of play. Jupiter and Saturn, growth and limit, are 5°20′ apart.

Mercury on the final degree, 3°30′ from the descendant
Mercury stands at 29°39′ of Libra, the last degree before Scorpio, and the descendant is at 3°10′ of Scorpio, 3°30′ ahead of it. A planet at the end of a sign is read as a theme close to completion, and one beside the western horizon as thought directed toward other people.
Mercury also rules Virgo, so it speaks for the Moon.

Venus, ruler of Sun sign and rising sign, squared by Mars
Venus at 16°20′ of Scorpio rules both Libra and Taurus, so it answers for the Sun sign and the rising sign at once. Both house systems set it in the 7th, the sector of partnership.
Mars at 15°35′ of Leo squares Venus, 0°45′ from exact, the tightest aspect of the chart. Both signs are fixed, and Mars also rules the sign Venus occupies, so attraction and drive become two forces holding their ground against each other. Placidus puts Mars in the 5th and Whole Sign in the 4th.

Earth on the Moon and on both angles
Taurus held the Saginaw horizon from 8:21 p.m. to 9:42 p.m., with Aries before it and Gemini after, and the birth came 7 minutes into that stretch. The ascendant is 3°10′ Taurus, and the midheaven, 17°19′ Capricorn, is in Capricorn.
Taurus, Capricorn and the Virgo Moon are all earth, and that Moon is the only planet in an earth sign, so the tradition sees a steady, material frame around an airy core. Taurus rising suggests a deliberate first impression, Capricorn at the top a public life built by long effort. Saturn, Capricorn's ruler, stands in Libra, where the old scheme counts it exalted.

A Virgo Moon squared by Neptune, 1°50′ off
The Moon crossed into Virgo at 6:29 a.m. on September 25 and leaves at 2:41 p.m. on September 27, so the whole birthday falls inside the sign and the birth came 38.0 hours after the crossing.
Neptune at 22°14′ of Sagittarius squares it, a link between two mutable signs. The tradition sets Virgo's care for detail against Neptune's pull toward the imagined and reads sensitivity that refines what it takes in.
