Austin Butler is an American actor, born in Anaheim, California. He began as a background actor on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide in 2005, and his television work includes a main part in Zoey 101 (2008), Life Unexpected, Switched at Birth, The Carrie Diaries (2013 to 2014) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016 to 2017). His Broadway debut was The Iceman Cometh in 2018. In 2019 he played Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He starred as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis (2022), which earned him a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and an Oscar nomination for best actor. Later work includes the miniseries Masters of the Air (2024), Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two (2024) and Darren Aronofsky's Caught Stealing (2025).
