Hozier is the name used by Andrew Hozier-Byrne, an Irish singer, songwriter and guitarist from County Wicklow. He studied music at Trinity College Dublin and toured with the choir Anúna from 2009 to 2012. His debut EP, Take Me to Church, came out in July 2013, and the title single reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards. The album Hozier (2014) peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, and Wasteland, Baby! (2019) went to number one there. Unreal Unearth (2023) topped the Irish and UK charts, and "Too Sweet", from the 2024 EP Unheard, became his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sometime just before six, in his own words
Astro-Databank's Source Notes read: Craft quotes Hozier on Twitter "17th of March, 1990. Sometime just before 6am". The entry is filed under "From memory", rated A, and sets the clock at 5:55 a.m.
A tweet gives no minute, so the table tests two other times: half an hour earlier, and the minute Pisces arrives. The Moon and the midheaven stay in Sagittarius in all three rows. Only the ascendant moves, from 15°54′ Aquarius at 5:30 a.m. to 0°25′ Pisces at 5:58 a.m. This page uses 5:55 a.m., which keeps Aquarius on the horizon.

The horizon passes to Pisces at 5:58 a.m.
Aquarius held the Greystones horizon from 4:53 a.m. to 5:57 a.m., and he was born 62 minutes into that stretch, with 2 left. A late degree such as 28°45′ Aquarius shows Aquarius at full strength: a cool, detached, observing first impression.
Pisces takes the horizon at 5:58 a.m., 3 minutes after the recorded time, so a clock a little later would hand the horizon to the sign of his Sun. At 5:55 a.m. the angle stays in Aquarius, and this page reads it that way.

Sagittarius took the Moon at 4:56 a.m.
Scorpio held the Moon until 4:56 a.m., 59 minutes before the birth, and it leaves Sagittarius at 5:02 p.m. on March 19, about 2.5 days later. At 0°29′ it is a 9th-house Moon in Placidus and an 11th-house Moon in Whole Sign.
A Sagittarius Moon brings feeling that wants range and a long view, and the 9th house adds study and distance. The Moon trines the Sun, 4°06′ from exact, and the midheaven, 18°16′ Sagittarius, repeats the sign overhead.

Mercury sextile Saturn, with the Sun beside Mercury
The Sun at 26°23′ and Mercury at 24°35′ stand in Pisces, 1°48′ apart. The Sun leaves the sign at 9:20 p.m. on March 20, 3.64 days after the birth. Placidus makes both 1st-house bodies, Whole Sign 2nd-house.
Mercury sextiles Saturn, 1°07′ from exact, the tightest pair of the chart. Tradition eases the planet of speech with the planet of structure, a pairing linked with patient, carefully built wording.

Both rulers of Aquarius share Capricorn with Neptune
Saturn at 23°28′, Uranus at 9°16′ and Neptune at 14°19′ stand in Capricorn. Saturn rules Aquarius in the old scheme and Uranus in the modern one, and Uranus meets Neptune within 5°04′.
Placidus files all three under groups and hopes, Whole Sign under retreat. Uranus and Neptune are generational, so astrologers weigh Saturn most.

Venus and Mars in the 12th house, or on the angle
Venus at 10°39′ and Mars at 4°08′ stand in Aquarius, the rising sign, 6°31′ apart. Whole Sign counts them with the ascendant in the 1st, while Placidus keeps them in the 12th, just behind the angle.
Both sit in the ascendant's own sign, so they count as part of the outward manner: friendly, unconventional taste and energy aimed at ideas.
